Archaeological remains on the outskirts confirm the area was occupied by Romans and later by Crusaders. Rmeich sits on history, literally.
الآثار المكتشفة على أطراف القرية تؤكد وجود روماني وصليبي متعاقب. رميش تجلس فوق التاريخ، حرفياً.
Saint George Church was first built around 1700, destroyed and rebuilt multiple times — including surviving the earthquake of 1837 that levelled the rest of the village.
كنيسة مار جرجس شُيّدت أول مرة نحو عام 1700، هُدمت وأُعيد بناؤها مرات — وصمدت أمام زلزال 1837 الذي دمّر القرية من حولها.
Tobacco cultivation started in Rmeich in the mid-18th century. The village also grows olives across its 20 km² of agricultural land.
زراعة التبغ بدأت في رميش منتصف القرن الثامن عشر. وتُزرع الزيتون أيضاً على امتداد أراضيها الزراعية البالغة 20 كم².
